Quick update

Short and sweet post:

Great news! J is sick. The first time that I have known that she is sick. Honestly. If she has ever been sick it would've had to have been something I wouldn't notice. I've always heard that most radical kids don't get sick much for some strange reason. I'm taking this as a strong sign that she is healing emotionally. #1 She trusted me enough to tell me and #2 Her defenses were down enough to allow a germ in.

So my sweet baby has a sore throat, fever, stuffy nose, achy muscles, nauseous, headache, etc. And I'm having the best time showing her lots of extra TLC, homemade chicken soup, etc. She's allowing it to happen, accepting and responsive to it. Yeah for my kid!!!

Bless her sweet little heart...

WOO HOO!!!

Only a RAD parent would be happy that their kid is sick! But WOW - Lisa this is huge!

Alyssa was with us for over a year before she was sick "for real". This is progress for J - it is the first step to the healing phase. She feels safe, now she can move on to real healing. I see bright, happy times in your future!

I am so happy for you!

YOU ARE AN AWESOME MOM!

Love,
Me

I'm glad J's defenses were down enough to let in the germ and to tell her Awesome Mom.

Keep doing what you do best.

Does J have stones and crystals with 'good' energy? I find that amethyst helps me with my PTSD sleep issues.

Congrats! What a wonderful bonding time for you… It is so funny that you mention the not getting sick; our little one was NEVER sick! We would all be dying from the flu and she would be fine. I hope J gets better, but I also hope she stays sick just long enough for her to see and accept that you are going to be there for her.

This may sound a little strange, but I also get kind of happy when my kids get sick. No, I don't want them to feel terrible. It's just that it means they want me. They'll let me snuggle them and take care of them. I think that it's kind of nice.

I'm so happy for you that J trusted you enough to let you know she wasn't feeling well.

lisa, how wonderful!!! ( I know moms of "normal" little girls must think we're nuts, celebrating sickness, but..) I'm SOOO happy for you, and I know EXACTLY what you mean!! Anastasia NEVER EVER got sick the first two years...NO fever, no flu, no bad cold, no vomiting...

I TREASURE that first time she got sick and I could love her to pieces without her pushing me away.

Yay for germs!!!

( but an even bigger YAY for RADmoms who love them away...)

Yeah for J, for telling you. Yeah for you, for taking full advantage of this opportunity to show her extra love and attention.
May this be a huge step forward in her healing.

That is so excellent. I hope it lasts for at least 2 days. Sickness is respite for the mommy's soul.
