Fear

The TAT exercise from tapping.com has been working wonders with J's fears. Today I signed her up for 2 weeks of group swimming lessons at our local aquatic center. She was a little scared that all the other kids will be better than her. I did TAT on her and her fears were alleviated. TAT was (I think) designed to help recover from traumatic events. I've tweaked it to work on J's fears of the future. So far.....so good.....

Sunday we're going to do cranial sacral work on J with AT afterwards. This should be interesting.

J is working on ironing these days (after school). She's done it before but now she is really trying hard. She is really learning to do a good job and I'm very proud of her. Yesterday she ironed all her play clothes and her good clothes and thoroughly enjoyed it. Know it won't last so I'm enjoying it now.....

I really hope she can enjoy the swimming lessons, and take part in the class.

Good for her for ironing. It's one of my least favorite chores.

I tried it with my severe PTSD son last night. The results were amazing completely shocked both me and my son. Initially he escalated very quickly so we had to stop. Once he calmed back down, we tried again and this time he completely melted into my arms. A few minutes after we were done, he completely broke down in tears and told me he had a big headache. I just loved on him a lot and told him he'd done some very hard work. Before he went to bed, he asked if I would help him like that next time he has scary dreams. I told him of course I would and I also showed him how to to do it himself.

Thanks for sharing this fabulous resource!!!

Can I send my ironing on down so she can get some more practice? ;-)

I learned to swim (therapeutically) when I was a little younger than J, and I always liked it very much. I hope she has a good experience.

If you want to, you can tell J this ironing story

When I was 4 years old, I had some surgery, and I was afraid to stand up afterward. In my physical therapy I would cry if I was even asked to try standing in front of the mirror, though I had lots of fun things to do while I was there. (I got to smear shaving cream on a mirror, though this might not be the best thing to tell J!)

When I was in Play Therapy though I fell in love with a yellow Little T*ykes ironing board and iron, all made of plastic, and I would happily stand with assistance to play with *that*- Well, I only had 4 facecloths to "iron" so the physical therapist came in and kept rotating them so I thought I was doing the ironing for the whole hospital! I had fun, and it helped me not be so scared to stand up on the legs I had just had "fixed."

Love to your whole family

I started tapping with the girls today. They both thought I was nuts, and Teena suggested like,600 variations.
BUT, the afternoon and evening went really well. Unusually well for Genea.
I have done the bilateral tapping before but not the kind you guys do with the afirmations too.

Yeah for the ironing. Maybe she could come and do mine--I don't love to iron----not at all!!

Someone asked to borrow our iron, we couldn't even find it. At least J will take away an ability to iron well, even when the "chore" has lost its bloom.

Iron her playclothes!!! Must be a southern thing. I don't think I knew anyone in New England who ever ironed but coming back South I notice my sister irons t-shirts and jeans... I am in culture shock even if I was raised here...

I didn't even own an iron until I became a professional seamstress and had to have one. I still hate ironing. Yea for knit shirts and jeans!

My poor kids may never know how to iron. Bad mommy!

Don't forget to use Reiki for J's fears - about swimming lessons, whatever. Ask her where she feels the fear, and then send it to that particular area/chakra. Also send it to her mental body (set this intention).
