Scavengers

Thanks to the awesome Christine and her totally fabulous idea on scavenger hunts we've had several this morning. Some instructions were crawling forward and others were backwards. Crawling is so good for our kids.

Yesterday we had a mocking train. She had to mimic my every move through the whole house. Upstairs and downstairs. I incorporated some crawling into that as well as a lot of silliness.

Remember the poll over there on the right side?????? If you haven't voted please make your mark. Dr. Leslie is waiting for me to get back with her about the numbers to see if we have enough numbers to do a webinar. Thanks a bunch!

I totally forgot about this this past weekend. Had I remembered, I would have covered my kids in wet wipes and swifter pads and done some military training ;) Please let us know how it goes!

The scavenger hunts sound like a great idea! I remember my dad did one all over the city, when I turned 16. It was awesome.

OMG! Torina you are brilliant!!! I am so going to attach swiffers to the kids and let them go at it. They love to run and slide on their socks and I'm constantly yelling at them to stop before they hurt themselves.

I'm not a mama! :/

Seriously, can you get them to mimic cleaning? :)

We gave my mom slippers with loops built in on the bottom so she could "dust" her floors while she walked around, but then I saw this great idea! Made me wish I had babies again!

Torina,

That would take too much work. I just let them pick up the dust bunnies with their knees and clothing, and then we play charades ("You're a lion! No, a bunny! No, I've got it - COUSIN 'IT'!!!").

What a great idea! I love the mocking train, what a fun way to help her catch social cues.

Just from reading the comments I have to tell you, I let the kids get their socks wet and slide on the kitchen floor, soon they want socks on their hands too and pretend to be all sorts of animals. The floor gets pretty clean that way.
