Hmmmm....

There is a love/hate relationship for me regarding followers. I love getting new followers for obvious reasons, as well as, being able to follow others on their journey. But boy do I hate losing them. It hurt my feelings. *insert whine here* So today I seriously considered taking the follower gadget thingy off. I was afraid that I would lose some with the "Nailed It" post because this topic is surrounded by such controversy created (mostly) by the professionals. Typically I just tip toe around my recovery beliefs but Christine modeled bravery for me so I took a risk. I'm not going to take it back either because I still believe it's true. Taking on this disability takes a heck of an education. Lots of it is the school of hard knocks too.

So if I offended anyone...I am sorry. It wasn't my intention. If you're still reading my blog without following, please do. It's encouragement to me to read along with all of you. If you're following now and I'm not following you please let me know. Blogger has rearranged all of the follower thingys and now I can't tell who's new and who's not.

Oh and Dia....I'm so tickled to see you out there in cyberland. Since I can't leave you a comment I wanted you to know that I'm really enjoying your blog.

G is making his annual March pilgrimage to NYC on 3/13 to see the ABB at the Beacon Theater. He's invited us to come along! Yahoo! We won't be attending the concert but J will get to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Empire State Building and Grand Central Station. 48 hours isn't near enough time but I'll get J up at the butt crack of dawn to pack in as much as possible. Central Park, Museum of Natural History, Greenwich Village, China Town and Little Italy. The list is too long but I'll be a whirling dervish trying squeeze in as much as possible. Plus I'll get to buy some cool groceries at Balducci's, have Ray's Pizza..... Maybe he'll forget about us and leave us there for a week. ;-) Essie's got me wondering who I'll spot... In 2007 the apartment across from ours was occupied by Jeffrey Dean Morgan who was so much hotter in person than TV. Hoping we get that room again. ;-0

I have a hate relationship with the Followers widget. I wish Blogger never created it. I read posts on a weekly basis from people who feel bad because they lost a follower, or they don't have as many followers as so and so, etc.

I think that it just creates hurt feelings in blogland, and I refuse to put it up. And now that I can't see who my new followers are, so I can make sure to visit their blogs, I have absolutely no use for it.

You know what I hate...when people sign on as a follower just for an entry in a contest. If I ever have a contest I will not do that. If you are my follower I want to to be because you are interested in me or my life!

Sorry for the little rant:)

I love your blog and I have to admit that you were the first person to give me hope with my daughter! She is still a foster child (we are about to finish her adoption) and we have to rely on "State therapists". None of them have been able to help us (I even took parts of your blog to them and they told me it just won't work). I went to the school and school social worker and they told me it was just ME. So on my own I have been doing the tapping with her and it has worked! In the mean time I am looking for a therapist that will work with me after the adoption is completed. Thank you for being bold! Thank you for all of your knowledge--I would be lost without it!

God Bless you~
Rebecca

You will SO have to call me if you see anyone on my list of 5! I will dump this family in a second! (JK! really, JK!).
I am really surprised that anyone would un-follow you over the professional post. I did not note anything offensive as far as I remember. I am pretty sure I say way more scandalous stuff on a regular basis. Of course, I have 1/3 of your followers, so maybe thats why LOL.
Its your blog, say what is on your mind. Personally, I WANT to read differing opinions, differing styles, who what and why of choices. When I started mine I decided to tell it like it is, down deep and ugly or soaring high. I don't want to read about anyones perfect life, or fake happiness, or PC whatever. Yours is very much of a helpful blog that educates and informs on things most of the world doesn't (or didn't)even know of. It also has this amazing story of the origin and emergence of your family. Your passion literally comes thru the computer, and your experiences have helped me MANY many times.
Seriously, anyone who left, it IS their loss.
Buh- Bye.

I had a "follower" before I even knew what it meant and I have no idea how long they were following before I noticed. I really don't ever think about how many I have now.

I only follow those I really enjoy. I really enjoy reading yours.

If anyone is that hung up on one technique, then they have it way too easy (not really, they are just lucky and I am totally jealous). Because, Lord, if only one technique worked for me, I would be skipping with joy. As I type this, my daughter is outside screaming at the top of her lungs for no apparent reason whatsoever...hmmm should I Nancy Thomas her or Beyond Consequences her? I think I will just Ignore her :) Ta da! :)

As for Followers, I like using it because it will automatically add people to my Google Reader if I follow them. I think when we lose them it is people making mistakes. For reals.

I love your blog! I will be the first to say that I don't always agree with everything you say, but if we always agreed, we wouldn't have two different opinions or ways of doing things to learn from! (I never agree with EVERYTHING ANYONE says, including my mom, hubby, etc). I have learned so so so much from you!

So, please don't take the follower thing personally! Hey, I only have 15 followers, lol. You're so way more like um, like popular than me, soooooooo. That's my attempt atempt at being a teenager with friend issues in High School, lol. :D

Thank you for your comment in your blog. I haven't figured out the comment thing on my blog plus I am a bit shy about this. I wanted to say I referenced you in my most recent entry for providing inspiration and support. When I started this journey in 2006 with my daughter and realized it was RAD (state didn't believe me either) I felt so alone that I read EVERYTHING out there that I could find and blogs like yours didn't exist at least where I could find them! As for your "Nailed It" entry I loved it! As a teacher and teacher educator I try to tell teachers I train that the best teacher uses all the strategies that work even if they aren't always our favorites or come easily to us. I think your entry convinced me to become a "follower" of your blog (my first as soon as I figure out how to do that. You really are a tremendous support for RAD moms out here. I look forward to learning more from you so please don't stop telling it like you see it!

I am insanely... INSANELY... jealous of that last paragraph.

J-E-A-L-O-U-S.

As far as followers go... I am new to this and am an observer via you, but people get worked up over treatment opinions! That's shocking!

(Desperately racking brain for where else that's true).

I remember getting in 'heated' debates in psychology classes about motives and what not, but treatment... Hmm..

Don't take the followers off! It makes my life so much easier ( and this is all, after all, about making my life easy).

You should let your opinion flag fly... If not here, where?

Wow, I was surprised when you were apologizing in that post because I didn't see why you would need to apologize or even in this post for that matter.

I don't think you did or said anything wrong. I agree with Essie, their loss.

I also don't think it's a big deal. I unfollowed someone before. I can't remember why or even who. So, I hope I didn't hurt her feelings when I unfollowed. lol

I like followers for the same reason Torina does, I can add them to my reader very easily. I also agree with what she said.

I wouldn't worry about it. You are great and you don't have to apologize to anyone. ;-)

Maybe they just deleted their own blog and automatically it removed them as a follower or they went private as a follower. You are amazing and a true inspiration so I am sure it wasn't anything you said.

I don't even know how to follow, but I read your blog from time to time.
Thanks for keeping it real.

I hate the follower thingy. I only follow J because she asked so sweetly. Otherwise, nope. But you know I read, every, single, one of your posts. A trip to NY? Oh wow, I wish I was going too, what fun!
