Update

Just got off the phone with AT. It's appearing like it's a done deal. There will be a matching meeting with our s/w and Special K's worker to seal the deal. Then the ICPC paperwork will be started. I have a few connections with ICPC in GA but worried that with a state as big as Texas that it might take a really long time on their end. I'm also a little worried because a visit hasn't been mentioned.

A little more info on behaviors including that she is charming, attention seeking, aggressive, destructive, enuresis, poop holding, and been kicked out of school several times. Yep. She's my kid alright!

I have a great friend in TX (with lots of social worker initials at the end of her name) that actually said they tend to haul butt in TX with ICPC cases ... of course, I'm sure it always comes down to the person pushing the papers.

Still ... HOT DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOG!

Grateful,

Take a deep breath. This is great news! Don't what if yourself to death, about things you can't control. God has spoke to your heart and J.'s heart about this child. Now you wait and prepare. Enjoy the time you have with J. before Special K. comes. All that is meant to be will be, in the right time. It's all good. I know my post is a little more subdued then everyone elses and you can post it or not. You will have plenty of time to help K, soon enough.
Love,
Dancing

WHOOP! This is wonderful news. As for TX it will depend on what region Special K is in. According to our SW some are great, and so me are not... I am hoping for K to be in one of the regions that seem to have it together!

Yea for you and J!!!!

First,CONGRATULATIONS!
Second, I'm in TX and it is a region by region thing as far as how fast the papers are pushed. SA has a designated paper pusher so that part works almost too quickly. If you want pre placement to go slowly you will have to push for it. They tend to want to place and go.
They lie. I have a son who was demonized in his records (also his and another child's records were mixed up. We never did get the right medical records). He has been my easiest child to raise. My newest son was definitely white washed. They neglected to tell us some pretty important things. His records were also very incomplete.
If you are working through the capital city the workers there will lie to your face about serious behaviors. You can insist on talking to classroom teachers and therapists and to the foster parents. It helps sort out inconsistencies.
I am not saying this to discourage you. However, it sucks when you are set up to fail. The more info you have going in,the better chance you have of keeping J safe and helping K transition home.
(I never listen to my own advise.)
I am praying for you as you re-enter RAD hell. RAD amnesia is kind of like labor amnesia. You remember hurting. You just don't remember how bad it was until you are in labor again.
In the end it is worth the pain.
Once again, CONGRATULATIONS!
Lindy
